The store managers at Downtown Disney (now Disney Springs) decided to hold a chili cook-off potluck to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day weekend. They brought in four batches of homemade chili (with names like “Fireball” and “Cat on a hot tin roof”) and the cast members brought in all the side dishes.
I brought in cookies and applesauce for the party. The CMs loved it! 🙂
Because it was the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day, there are a lot of events going on at DTD. The Mighty St. Patrick’s Day Festival runs from March 7th – March 17, 2014. It brings out mobs of guests.
The cast members couldn’t park in their normal parking lot at Disney Casting across from DTD and had to park over at Typhoon Lagoon and be bused over to DTD. (The buses for cast members to/from Typhoon Lagoon ran until 4am!)
I had to leave extra early to allow time for that and they gave me a special water bottle as a thank you.

Ever wonder what it’s like to work for Disney???
We worked at WDW for a year in the Disney College Program and have written a book about what it’s like to be a cast member working for Disney.
We’ve included advice on how to successfully get into the DCP program, including some of the actual phone interview questions, how to have a successful internship, and how not self-term before your program ends. Our book is filled with lots of behind-the-scene stories of the magic of Disney. Available now at Amazon.com in paperback and Kindle formats. Published by Theme Park Press.
