Best Day of My Life – American Authors

I absolutely love this song!  This song always came on when we were heading out to play in the parks and it always put me in a good mood!

I love this song because the message is how I lived while here in Florida.  Even if I was just going to work, I reminded myself that “this is going to be the best day of my life” because I am in an amazing place and have these incredible opportunities that few people are fortunate to have!

It really did feel like a dream.  Even though it was such hard work, every day felt so magical and really were the best days of my life!   🙂

“I howled at the moon with friends
And then the sun came crashing in
Wo-oah-oah-oah-oah-oh-oh
Oah-oah-oah-oah-oah-oh-oh
But all the possibilities
No limits just epiphanies
Wo-oah-oah-oah-oah-oh-oh
Oah-oah-oah-oah-oah-oh-oh

I’m never gonna look back, woah
I’m never gonna give it up, noo
just don’t wake me now

Oo-o-o-o-o-o
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ii-ife”

Counting Stars – OneRepublic

This is the song that reminds me the most of the Disney College Program.  For some reason the DJs always played it at the exact time we would arrive to the housing events, and it always reminds of the excitement of those events.  We would hear it waiting in line waiting to meet the rarely-seen characters like Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum and Mr. Fredrickson from “Up”.

We had a lot of fun at those housing events and always ended up staying much longer than we would originally plan.  I always liked the ones at night because it would be more fun to dance in the field, and the lighting was really pretty.

We also always get a kick out of the lyrics “Take that money, watch it burn” because that is exactly how we feel here on the program!  We definitely did not come here to make money, and I think we would have missed out on so much if that was our only focus.

We got to make so many memories because we were willing to go out and try everything.  🙂

Lately I been, I been losing sleep (hey!)
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I been, I been prayin’ hard (hey!)
Said no more counting dollars
We’ll be, we’ll be counting stars” 🙂
