Disney College Program FAQs

DCP

Useful information for all CPs at WDW:

Q – How do my Main Gate and guest passes work?
A – You are given a Main Gate and one complimentary guest pass after arriving. These are mailed to you about two weeks into your program, only after you’ve completed Traditions.

You’re allowed to enter the park WITHOUT YOUR MAIN GATE right after Traditions when you’re given your Blue ID. You only need to find the ticket counter near the entrance gates and ask them to give you a temporary pass. You cannot, however bring guests until you get your guest passes.

New in January 2016:  You will receive three (3) one day park hopper Disney Guest Passes after working each 150 hour period, up to a maximum of 9 passes per calendar year. To bring in guests, give a guest pass to each of the guests you want to bring into the park, you take them to the main gate, and you go in first and they immediately follow you.  After the initial entry, your guests can park hop without you.

Q – How do housing curfews work?
A – You’re allowed to come and go from your own housing complex at any hour. You may bring in guests until 2AM, but it’s against the rules to let guests stay the night. The pools close at 2AM, but the gyms stay open 24/7.

2AM-8AM are quiet hours for all residents, and if you’re too loud, security might come knocking.
WARNING: If you come home drunk after 2AM, security won’t let you into your own complex if you’re so drunk that you can’t walk on your own!  Do NOT do this!!!

Q – How do I check my schedule on The Hub?
A – Go to https://enterpriseportal.disney.com and log in
Click “Walt Disney World” on the blue bar at the very top, underneath the The Hub’s site banner. MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE!

A – You are ALLOWED to enter the park after calling in for a PERSONAL DAY, or after receiving an ER or an ADO.

You are NOT allowed to enter the park after calling in SICK, or after receiving an ROS. This may lead to termination.

Two Girls and a Mouse Tale

by Elly Collins & Caroline Collins

Ever wonder what it’s like to work for Disney???

We worked at WDW for a year in the Disney College Program (Fall 2013/Spring 2014) and have written a book about what it’s like to be a cast member working for Disney.

We’ve included advice on how to successfully get into the DCP program, including some of the actual phone interview questions, how to have a successful internship, and how not self-term before your program ends. Our book is filled with lots of behind-the-scene stories of the magic of Disney. Available now at Amazon.com in paperback and Kindle formats. Published by Theme Park Press.

Hello, the number to Magic Kingdom Costuming is not the right one.

Is it true you can still call in personal and go to the parks, without getting termed?

    Like

    • NEVER do this!
CPs do NOT get “personal” days during their program.
If you call out for a ‘personal’, i.e., sick, then swipe your ID at any Park for free admission, you can be termed over this!
We see it happen every program!

As dumb or silly as this question may sound: are CPs allowed to visit the parks before work?

    Like

    • OF COURSE!

Parks open at 8am or 9am, but a lot of CP shifts are for the afternoon or evening! (Remember, CP = Closing Person!)

Plenty of time to hop on over to the parks for a few hours of fun and photo ops with characters before clocking in!
That’s part of the magic of working for Disney!

      Have a magical day!
      🙂
