In case you’ve never attended MNSSHP before, the party is an after-hours, separate ticket Halloween celebration that features a lot of must-see Halloween-themed entertainment, such as the “Boo To You Parade,” “Happy HalloWishes” fireworks, tons of Disney characters in costumes – especially the villains! -, and much, much more.
The party also features trick-or-treating stations with free candy for kids of all ages – yes, this means that adults are welcome to participate!
MNSSHP is the only time that park guests of all ages are encouraged to dress up in costumes. Last year, we saw whole families dressed in amazing homemade Disney costumes – going as the entire cast of ‘The Incredibles’, the entire cast of ‘The Little Mermaid’, more Disney princesses and villains than you could shake a stick at….just amazing costumes and make-up!
This year, MNSSHP features more trick-or-treat locations than ever before, with a total of 13 treat stops spread throughout the Magic Kingdom. Over the next few weeks, cast members will hand out a total of 261 tons of candy! That’s 522,000 lbs.!!
Look for special Halloween lighting and effects (fog, etc.) throughout the Magic Kingdom, from the train station all the way down Main Street to the Castle, which will have its own special Halloween lighting and music for the evening.
Guests who exit the park after the 8:30 p.m. performance of the “Boo to You” parade are in for an additional treat – huge bins of candy filled to the brim for the guests who skipped the trick-or-treating stations or just need to top off their backpacks!
On special nights from September 12 – October 31, 2014.
We’ve written a book about our year working at Disney: Two Girls and a Mouse Tale.
