Maelstrom had its final ride last night at Epcot Norway. The ride was a Disney favorite, floating guests through the perils of the North Sea in 10th-century-style warrior’s longboats. It opened in 1988.

In September 2014, WDW announced it was shutting down the Maelstrom ride in the Norway Pavilion at Epcot and replacing it with a ride inspired by the movie ‘Frozen’. The new attraction will take guests to Arendelle and immerse them in many of their favorite moments and music from the film.

Farewell longboats, we’ll miss you!!!

Then, this morning, a guy driving on the highway near Disney World caught some video of the Maelstrom boats leaving WDW!  So cool – maybe Disney will sell them at Cast Connection???

Two Girls and a Mouse Tale

by Elly Collins & Caroline Collins

Ever wonder what it’s like to work for Disney???

We worked at WDW for a year in the Disney College Program (Fall 2013/Spring 2014) and have written a book about what it’s like to be a cast member working for Disney.

We’ve included advice on how to successfully get into the DCP program, including some of the actual phone interview questions, how to have a successful internship, and how not self-term before your program ends. Our book is filled with lots of behind-the-scene stories of the magic of Disney. Available now at in paperback and Kindle formats. Published by Theme Park Press.
