Disney Blue Main Gate Entrance Pass Blackout Dates

The brand new link to check blackout dates for guest passes at all the Disney Parks worldwide: https://blockoutdates.disney.com/

Follow our new blog at: Current Blackout Days for Cast Members

With the holiday season coming up fast, we thought we would post the blackout dates for all four theme parks for the rest of the year.

February 2015 – May 2015

These are the blackout dates for guests of CMs using the Blue Main Gate passes, not  blackout dates for CMs.  We have very few blackout dates, and avoid the parks on heavy crowd days when Phase 2-3-4 restrictions are in place.

Two Girls

Two Girls and a Mouse Tale

by Elly Collins & Caroline Collins

We worked at WDW for a year in the Disney College Program (Fall 2013/Spring 2014) and have written a book about what it’s like to be a cast member working for Disney.

We included advice on how to successfully get into the DCP program, including some of the actual phone interview questions, how to have a successful internship, and how not self-term before your program ends. Our book is filled with lots of behind-the-scene stories of the magic of Disney.

Available now at Amazon.com in paperback and Kindle formats. Published by Theme Park Press.

  1. Are you able to use Maingates consecutively. Example.. I want my parents and brother to come out on a vacation. Can we use 6 consecutive days of my Miangates to get them into the parks for the 6 days they are here?

  2. Hi Collins sisters! I love the blog! ❤

Quick question, do these blackout dates also apply to the 'Family Holiday Celebration' hopper passes? They're e-tickets, not actual cards, that must be traded for real tickets at guest services/ticket window. My uncle just started recently and doesn't know how to find the information on the hub/portal. He was told by his colleagues that the restrictions won't apply to the passes and that they have used them during the holidays.

    1. Hello!

From what we remember, the holiday packet tickets are supposed to be treated exactly like regular guest passes. So blackout dates do apply.

The only ones that are like regular park tickets are the comp tickets – those don’t have blackout dates.

  3. My daughter’s last “work” day was yesterday (1/2/15), but her program ends on 1/5/15. Are we able to use the guest passes on the 5th of January? Does it make a difference if she turns in her costumes and receives her graduation materials prior to the 5th?

  4. I start as a cast member in two weeks. Is there a difference between your blue ID card and the blue maingate pass? Like if I want to go to a park after Traditions, can I use my blue ID card? Sorry if this is confusing lol

    1. Once you receive your blue ID, you can start going to the parks. However, since you don’t have your main gates yet, they’ll probably send you to guest services every time to verify that you work there before you can go play. It’s a little annoying, but you should receive your main gates within two weeks!

  5. i am really confused on how to check how many times ive used my main entrance pass i know i have to go on the hub but from there where do i go

    1. Well, that honks. My daughter starts in August and I wanted to see blockout dates in November and December, but they only show through August? Do you have any other source of information?

By the way, love the blog and I am buying the book and looking forward to reading it.

      1. Yes, unfortunately they only post 3 months out. I would check what it was last year because it will be similar.

Thank you so much! We are glad you are finding our blog useful! Please let us know what you think of our book! 🙂

  6. Hey, so are these blackout dates for our guests or us as cast members? My boyfriend would like to come down Christmas day and New years this year but does not plan on using my guest passes. Are cast members typically blacked out from Christmas day through new years as well?

  7. Those are just the blackout days for using your guest passes. CMs have very few blackout days and mainly just at MK. The other three parks, especially Epcot are almost always open.
CMs might be blacked out Dec 24, 25, and 31, especially at MK. That park reaches a Phase 4 closure on those days by 10am.
For reference, check out how many guest pass blackout days there are – and how few CM blackout days there are – this summer at : https://blockoutdates.disney.com/.

  8. Hi, do you happen to have a link to the blackout dates for last year? We are trying to plan a trip in October with family flying in from another state and would hate to get there and have it all blacked out. I have searched and can not find the calendar for 2014.

    Thanks so much!!

  9. hi, can the Disney family celebration guest tickets be used in addition to the regular guest passes distributed with the maingates? for example, would I be able to admit my self, my 3 guests with guest passes, plus an additional 3 guests from the family holiday tickets for a total of 6 guests?

  10. Hey there! This is kind of off topic but I need some advice from an established blog.
Is it very hard to set up your own blog? I’m not very technical but I can figure things out pretty quick.

I’m thinking about creating my own but I’m not sure where to begin. Do you have any ideas or suggestions?
