President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama hosted trick-or-treaters at the White House on Friday.
President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama welcomed over 4,000 trick-or-treaters to a traditional White House Halloween — complete with First Dog Bo and Sunny topiaries dressed as circus clowns.
Schoolchildren and military families from across the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area streamed onto the White House grounds, dressed as Piglets, princesses and Dr. Seuss characters.
Mr. Obama wished a “happy Halloween” to a long procession of Disney princesses, sharks, zombies, monsters, a family dressed as Wizard of Oz characters, bumblebees and Batmen, among others. He patted the head of what appeared to be a small, orange fox being carried by his father. Mrs. Obama helped pass out treats from a basket next to the president.
The trick-or-treaters included children from local schools, as well as children from military families. The kids goggled at the 200 pumpkins, acrobats and dramatic spider decorations, and passed Glinda the Good Witch waving from inside a giant bubble.
The President and First Lady grinned and chatted with the kids as they handed out bags of goodies. Included in the haul: White House Hershey Kisses and a White House Sweet Dough Butter Cookie, along with black licorice and orange tangerine jelly beans, kettle corn, Bo and Sunny baseball cards and a Gala apple.

Ever wonder what it’s like to work for Disney???
We worked at WDW for a year in the Disney College Program (Fall 2013/Spring 2014) and have written a book about what it’s like to be a cast member working for Disney.
We’ve included advice on how to successfully get into the DCP program, including some of the actual phone interview questions, how to have a successful internship, and how not self-term before your program ends. Our book is filled with lots of behind-the-scene stories of the magic of Disney.
