Perks of my new Disney Visa Card

Once we knew we were going to Disney World for a vacation In November, I applied for a Disney Visa card and started racking up the rewards points.

We went to the 2014 International Food & Wine Festival at Epcot on its last day.  During the festival, there’s an extra perk for Disney cardholders:

Chase invites Disney Card Holders to experience a unique EPCOT Lounge

Chase offers Disney Visa Cardmembers exclusive access to the Chase Lounge at the Festival. The lounge, which is located on the third floor of the American Adventure Pavilion within the Epcot World Showcase, offers an inviting space to relax, enjoy complimentary beverages, electronic charging stations, and other amenities exclusively for Chase customers.

The lounge is open daily during the Festival from 11 a.m. to park close, typically 9pm.

We showed our Disney card to the CM guarding the elevator outside and rode it up to the 3rd floor.  The lounge is actually two rooms and faces the World Showcase Lagoon and Spaceship Earth.  The first room has a bartender ($$) and two of those soda machines that can dispense 50+ kinds of Coca-Cola products (free).

The second room has linen-covered tables and nice sofas for sitting, along with a big screen TV quietly playing Disney movies with little chairs around it for the kids.

It’s a nice meeting place for families.  We suspect during the hot September days when the Festival is just kicking off, that it’s a nice air-conditioned place to rest for a bit out of the heat and humidity, and any late summer, stormy weather that might be passing through.

Character Meet ‘N’ Greet at our Private Cardmember Location

Stop by our private location—reserved just for Cardmembers—to meet and pose with some of your favorite Disney characters. Get a complimentary 5 x 7 photo, too! Just present your Disney Visa Card to enter this exclusive event, offered daily 1pm to 7pm at Innoventions West at Epcot.

This was another thing that we did for the first time.  (We didn’t realise it wasn’t at the American Adventure at first and had to walk back to Innovations West.)

Across from where everyone else is lining up for the Mickey character meet & greet is the private meet & greet room for Disney cardholders.

Waiting inside are Mickey, Minnie, & Goofy in the same outfits that they wear at the regular meet & greet at Future World.  But without the wait.  It was nice.

With amazing perks, you can add extra magic to your next Disney vacation using your Disney card.

All Disney Visa Cards offer access to perks 365 days-a-year when visiting Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort, including a Character Meet ‘N’ Greet at a private Cardmember location and special savings at Disney’s U.S. Theme Parks and Disney Store locations and Cardholders can also choose from various magical card designs featuring some of the most beloved Disney Characters.

Two Girls and a Mouse Tale

by Elly Collins & Caroline Collins

Ever wonder what it’s like to work for Disney???

We worked at WDW for a year in the Disney College Program (Fall 2013/Spring 2014) and have written a book about what it’s like to be a cast member working for Disney.

We’ve included advice on how to successfully get into the DCP program, including some of the actual phone interview questions, how to have a successful internship, and how not self-term before your program ends. Our book is filled with lots of behind-the-scene stories of the magic of Disney.

Available now at in paperback and Kindle formats. Published by Theme Park Press.
