One of my most favorite things from the DCP program were the friendships that I made! You can read about them here. It made me SO happy that some of them were still working at Disney when I visited in November.
I first met Sebastian during my extension of my program, while I was playing at Epcot. One of my bucket list items was to eat around the world and it was always a plus to make friends while I did it! 🙂
I have always been super lucky running into Sebastian every time I went to Epcot (maybe that just meant he worked all the time!), so I wasn’t worried about finding him again in November.
After walking all the way through Epcot Germany, I finally had to ask one of the CMs to find him for me. Turns out Sebastian had been promoted to work in the “candy shop”, aka the Karamel-Kuche, which happens to be my favorite place in Epcot! (OK, it’s tied with Norway as my favorite…). I LOVE the caramel popcorn from Germany!
Sebastian came out from the kitchen to see me, after having worked a long day making all that caramel popcorn. Check out those neon orange gloves he has to wear. They are for heat protection. And I just love the baker’s hat worn at such a jaunty angle! haha!
And the best part? He still remembered me too!
It was so fun catching up with Sebastian! We probably would have been great friends if our programs had overlapped a little bit more. After almost a year living and working in Florida, I was so surprised to notice that he has almost completely lost his German accent and now sounds exactly like a Floridian!
I told him about how much I love the caramel popcorn there and was asking about what he does all day, and then he completely surprised me by performing a Magical Moment and giving me some popcorn that he just made for me to take home!!! 🙂
I’m so glad I got to run into him again; he is such a nice guy! I decided after my trip was over that I wanted to start giving formal compliments to the great CMs that made our trip so special. This is the email that I sent to Disney about Sebastian and what a wonderful CM he is.
He’ll be leaving to return home in March 2015.
But, what a great way to end my visit to Epcot!
