I went to the new Starbucks Creature Comforts at DAK not once, but twice, this week!
First, cast members got an exclusive invite to preview the new store earlier this week. I went on Wednesday; it was my day off and you couldn’t be there in costume.
I was told that as part of their Starbucks training, every cast member has to know how to make every drink on the menu and they must make them 10x perfectly to be a barista.
My drink was PERFECT! Delicious and icy cold! 🙂
And, what about the straws??!! As you know, the Animal Kingdom has a “no plastic straws policy” to keep the animals’ habitats plastic-free.
But, you can’t drink a Starbucks without a straw!
At DAK, the straws are made out of paper and colored Starbucks’ trademark green.
Like at the other merchandise locations in Animal Kingdom, cashiers ask if you’d like to donate to the Disney Conservation Fund when you pay and you get a special button for donating any amount.
Also, for every Flat White drink sold here, Disney is making a donation to cotton top tamarin conservation. Nice!
Downside: There’s is no seating in the place and the main floor space is just for queue lines. We think that there should be small tables to relax and enjoy your drink and snack!
I went back yesterday morning with my family for the Grand Opening Event.
The new DAK Starbucks ‘You Are Here’ Tree of Life mug was for sale with a limit of 5 per guest.
I worked merchandise at Creature Comforts last year, so it was fun to see how they’ve changed it up and repainted/remodeled the store!!
Finally, with Pizzafari no longer serving breakfast, Starbucks Creature Comforts offers artisan breakfast sandwiches and assorted pastries for hungry guests arriving at the park, to start their day off right.

We worked at WDW for a year in the Disney College Program (Fall 2013/Spring 2014) and have written a book about what it’s like to be a cast member working for Disney.
We included advice on how to successfully get into the DCP program, including some of the actual phone interview questions, how to have a successful internship, and how not self-term before your program ends. Our book is filled with lots of behind-the-scene stories of the magic of Disney.
