One afternoon, we decided we needed to taste some tequilas (“the essence of Mexico”).

La Cava Del Tequila

Over 100 kinds of tequila at the bar.

We stopped in for a drink at La Cava del Tequila – a tequila bar with a vast collection of over 100+ tequilas, specialty margaritas, and light Mexican appetizers.

Our Creme de Tequila shots.  Si, si!!!!

The place is a little hole in the wall that’s easy to miss. It’s inside the Mexico pavilion.  It’s on the right hand side of the Mercado, past the splashing fountain.

The flight of Crème de Tequila shots went down smoothly and was our favorite. It had a creamy base with a hint of cinnamon and sugar.

My Blood Orange Tequila cocktail

We also decided to try something new, the Blood Orange Tequila cocktail (tequila, orange liqueur, blood orange juice, topped with wild berry creme foam and served on the rocks).  It was fabulous!  Perfect for a late afternoon break.

They make the tequila drinks strong here…best to share the cocktails!

We had some time before dinner, so we rode the fun ‘Three Caballeros’ ride (walked on, no wait!) and did some shopping in the plaza.

Epcot Mexico

ICPs from Mexico. Roberto was so nice!

We really enjoyed talking to two ICPs, Roberto and Enrique, from Mexico doing the DCP program, especially Roberto.  They were so friendly and nice.  Caroline had them sign and stamp her Disney autograph book.

Caroline Tries the Avocado Margarita at Epcot’s La Cava del Tequila

Caroline went back a second time with friends to try one of their famous margaritas.

Pages of specialty margaritas in the menu.

Ever since I first discovered Epcot’s La Cava del Tequila, I have wanted to try this Avocado Margarita.  It has a whole scoop of avocado and I know, I agree – it sounds super gross!  But I read some reviews that all say it’s worth a try.

So, I finally did it.  For $14.98, you get this tall drink…with all it’s delicious, creamy avocado glory.  It is SO good!

It actually tastes like a delicious melon ball.  I kept telling my friends that it tasted like I was drinking a yummy “healthy” smoothie!

La Cava del Tequila

The Pineapple Margarita.

My girlfriends ordered the Pineapple margarita and the Pomegranate margarita.  I thought the pineapple one could have been more sweeter, but I do recommend the Pomegranate one.

Our drinks.  Pomegranate margarita on the right.

We ordered our drinks at the bar so we could walk around the world with it.

Walking around the Mexico Pavilion on a hot summer afternoon with a drink in hand. Ahhhhh….

Walking around Mexico this afternoon.

Final review: Definitely try the Avocado Margarita!! It was so refreshing to sip on as I walked around the world! 🙂

Also, order a Flight of Tequilas!

March 2019 Update:  Our brother Chris tries a tequila shot at La Cava del Tequila!

He gave it a thumb’s up!

Two Girls and a Mouse Tale

by Elly Collins & Caroline Collins

Ever wonder what it’s like to work for Disney???

We worked at WDW for a year in the Disney College Program (Fall 2013/Spring 2014) and have written a book about what it’s like to be a cast member working for Disney.

We’ve included advice on how to successfully get into the DCP program, including some of the actual phone interview questions, how to have a successful internship, and how not self-term before your program ends. Our book is filled with lots of behind-the-scene stories of the magic of Disney. Available now at Amazon.com in paperback and Kindle formats. Published by Theme Park Press.
