Lunch at Be Our Guest Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom

Welcome! It's lunchtime...

Welcome! It’s lunchtime at Be Our Guest…

The Be Our Guest Restaurant in Fantasyland is the nicest restaurant at the Magic Kingdom. The food is delicious.

We like the quick service – and menu – at lunchtime better than the slow, full service at dinner, which can take up to 2 hours!

It’s almost impossible to get a reservation – for breakfast, lunch, or dinner – at the Be Our Guest restaurant in July.  The restaurant takes reservations 180 days out and all the time slots fill up fast.

My CP friend Ricky had reservations for two for lunch last week at Be Our Guest and then dinner at Crystal Palace in the same day! Unfortunately, his friend got termed for having alcohol in his apartment just a few days before the lunch date.

He asked me if I would like to go instead and, of course, I said YES!!!

For breakfast and lunch, you are lined up to wait for a self-serve ordering system. You seat yourself after ordering lunch, and for the waiters to find you, they give you a “magic rose” that tracks where you are seated.  If you’re wearing a magic band, they will use that instead.

All the food on the lunch menu is pretty heavy for a hot summer’s day and the portions are huge.

I ordered the slow-cooked pork with sweet mashed potatoes off kids menu instead ($8.49).  While it was good, I seriously don’t believe any kids under the age of 9 would eat this!

But I appreciated it!

While the food is good, you really dine at Be Our Guest for the ambience.

Dessert time!

Dessert time! My Master’s Cupcake.

There was a delay in getting our lunch.  After 25 minutes, the manager came over and apologized and offered my friend a free dessert.  He got a free cupcake with his meal.  🙂

Note: The Beast only makes appearances at dinner.

During our spring DCP program, we were invited to beta test the new lunch service at Be Our Guest:

So pretty!

So pretty!  All three dining rooms are open at lunchtime.

A Regal Lunch with No Time Crunch

Lunch is available from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM in all three of our elegant and immersive dining areas.

The restaurant features medieval windows reaching the ceiling and murals depicting the Enchanted Rose and characters from the film, including Belle, the Beast, Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lumière, and Cogsworth.

Enjoy a delicious, expeditious quick-service lunch in a majestic setting—with a lush décor you’ll adore! Mrs. Potts insists you dine in a manner befitting royalty! So raise a glass, and dine first-class.

Cuisine is French-inspired. Three dining rooms are located within the castle, including the ballroom where Belle and the Beast danced, the West Wing where the rose is kept, and a gallery with paintings and a 7′ wooden music box depicting Belle and Beast.

Stay light on your feet with a fresh tuna Niçoise salad, or indulge in a tempting béchamel-smothered croque-monsieur sandwich served with pommes frites. Other favorites include the turkey baguette, vegetable quiche and the chef’s favorite—our “singing,” 8-hour braised pork! Your princesses and mini-beasts, meanwhile, can enjoy popular kids’ menu choices like Mickey meatloaf and whole-grain macaroni.

Reservations are recommended. With a reservation, you can also enjoy the convenience of pre-ordering your lunch online—up to 30 days before your visit—through our new order-ahead dining service!

Two Girls and a Mouse Tale

by Elly Collins & Caroline Collins

Ever wonder what it’s like to work for Disney???

We worked at WDW for a year in the Disney College Program (Fall 2013/Spring 2014) and have written a book about what it’s like to be a cast member working for Disney.

We’ve included advice on how to successfully get into the DCP program, including some of the actual phone interview questions, how to have a successful internship, and how not self-term before your program ends. Our book is filled with lots of behind-the-scene stories of the magic of Disney.

  1. Going here at the end of this year and can’t wait. This post has made me even more impatient :-p

  2. Definitely NOT the Magic Kingdom! It will be in Phase 4 closure by 10am.
Because of it’s size, we think the best place to spend new years eve is Epcot. Special events will be scheduled.
The traffic leaving any Disney park that night is a nightmare. Be prepared to sit in traffic on Buena Vista until 2am. 😦
