Construction Fire at Epcot Norway

fireFirefighters responded to a small fire at the Norway pavilion at Epcot Wednesday afternoon.

Crews were called to the scene around 4:20 p.m.

A view from WESH Chopper 2 showed multiple fire units at the employee parking lot behind the Norway pavilion.

According to a Walt Disney World spokesperson, the fire was reported in the construction area behind the Norway pavilion. Out of an abundance of caution, guests were evacuated from the attraction, the gift shop and the restaurant. They have since been allowed to return.

News 6 helicopter Sky 6 flew over the park and spotted fire trucks on scene. The entrance appeared to have been blocked to the Norway Pavilion, but was reopened.

The new “Frozen” attraction in the Norway Pavilion is set to open in 2016.

It’s unclear how the fire started.  Officials said there were no injuries and there were no reports of damage.

Two Girls and a Mouse Tale

by Elly Collins & Caroline Collins

Ever wonder what it’s like to work for Disney???

We worked at WDW for a year in the Disney College Program (Fall 2013/Spring 2014) and have written a book about what it’s like to be a cast member working for Disney.

We’ve included advice on how to successfully get into the DCP program, including some of the actual phone interview questions, how to have a successful internship, and how not self-term before your program ends. Our book is filled with lots of behind-the-scene stories of the magic of Disney.
