The President and First Lady Michelle Obama handed out treats on the South Lawn of the White House on Friday, October 30, 2015, Halloween Eve.
Earlier in the week, the South Lawn was turned into an enchanted forest for the annual event.
Hundreds of local schoolchildren and children from military families came trick-or-treating at the White House on Friday afternoon dressed as Disney princesses, Star Wars characters, caped super heroes, firefighters, and furry creatures. At least one little girl dressed as the first lady.
Best costume went to a toddler dressed as Pope Francis, right down to the pope’s traditional red shoes (which the pope refuses to wear). The toddler was trick-or-treating in a mini white popemobile.
Obama and his wife, Michelle, appeared as themselves and handed out White House Halloween Cookies, along treat bags filled with M&Ms, fruit bars, kettle corn, candies and baseball cards featuring their dogs, Bo and Sunny.
Next year will be the Obama’s final Halloween celebration at the White House.

Ever wonder what it’s like to work for Disney???
We worked at WDW for a year in the Disney College Program (Fall 2013/Spring 2014) and have written a book about what it’s like to be a cast member working for Disney.
We’ve included advice on how to successfully get into the DCP program, including some of the actual phone interview questions, how to have a successful internship, and how not self-term before your program ends. Our book is filled with lots of behind-the-scene stories of the magic of Disney.
