Magic Kingdom Disney Park Closures by Phases

Christmas castle MK

Celebrating the holidays on Main Street USA.  Main Street is always fully decorated by November 2nd, in time for the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

New park closure phases were recently added to the Phase 1 – 4 WDW closures:  Phase A and Phase B Closures.

Note that a park may be at a Phase 3 or Phase 4 closure earlier in the day, then may drop back down to Phase 1 in the late afternoon or evening when enough people leave and the parking lots open back up.

Phase 2 crowd (yes, it can be worst than this!)

December 23rd, 2 days before Christmas:  Phase 2 crowd level at the Magic Kingdom (yes, it can be MUCH worse than this!)  Look at all those grumpy guests slowly shuffling along….But, it can be much more crowded than this!!

Always check with the WDW Crowd Forecast when planning your day.  The parks are open 365 days a year, but that doesn’t guarantee you admission!

  1. May says:

I am starting DCP at Disneyland in the fall. How do I go about putting a freeze on my annual pass until I’m done with the program? I don’t want to pay for the pass during the months I’m doing DCP since I will get in for free.
Thank you for all your helpful information.

    • We are not aware of any way to “freeze” your annual pass and extend it into 2018.

We know of a few newly hired CMs that were able to cancel their annual pass and got a refund. (They had renewed their AP very close to their hire date.)

If we hear differently, we’ll let you know.
Meanwhile, after you get hired, contact Disney and see if they can do anything, but don’t count on it.
