Disneyland’s ‘A Bug’s Land’ is Closing Next Week

We loved the themeing and tie-in to gardening aspects of this land.

Disneyland is set to exterminate ‘A Bug’s Land’ from California Adventure!

On March 20, 2018, Disney Parks announced that A Bug’s Land will be closing permanently as the land will be the site for a new Marvel-themed land opening in 2020.

bug3The land’s anchor attraction, “It’s Tough to Be A Bug!” theater, which was built and opened when the theme park opened in 2001, closed on Monday, March 19, 2018. The remainder of the land is closing on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

The lucky four leaf clover – there’s only one! It’s 12 feet tall.

Guests with small children loved the cute, bug-filled, and shady environment with its huge clover leaves.

Pixar Pier with the Pixar Pal-A-Round (formerly Mickey’s Fun Wheel).  Nope!  Never again will will go on those swinging baskets!!!

This latest move continues the ongoing renovations at Disney California Adventure, which in June 2018 turned its former Paradise Pier into a new land called Pixar Pier, including a newly revamped roller coaster, a new midway games, and a renovated Mickey’s Fun Wheel ferris wheel.

My favorite ride, Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train. It smelled so good!

Our favorite rides were:  Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train (yes!), Flik’s Flyers, and Tuck and Roll’s Drive ‘Em Buggies.

This ride was fun too!  Flik’s Flyers

I will say that – unlike at Disneyland – I never saw a screaming or crying kid at A Bug’s Land.  Not once.  Kids loved this land!  It was fun, shady, and there were lots of treat carts!

Riding the Chew-Chew train…ahhh…all the yummy smells..candy corn!  🙂

Adventures in the Animal Kingdom

Lions and Tigers and Strollers, Oh My!

This is not Caroline’s first time in the Disney College Program. Along with her sister, she was previously accepted into the program a few years earlier.  Back in Colorado, Caroline was wishing for a little more pixie dust to brighten up her life.  On a whim, she decides to apply to the exclusive Disney Alumni Summer Program.

Now that she’s back, things get wild.

Wild, as in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where Caroline is assigned to work in Stroller Rental.  While not the most glamorous position in the park, it’s often ground zero for humanity at its best and at its worst.

While Caroline makes many “Magical Moments” for deserving guests whose pixie dust has gone temporarily sideways, she also receives magical moments of her own through the friendships she makes, going to Disney cast member exclusive events, and all the spectacular dining opportunities at Disney World.

Caroline tells all – from the ins and outs of Disney’s secret training class called Traditions; to learning how to be a happy cast member during on-the-job training; to what it’s like to interact with fellow cast members and the guests who are ready to explore the most magical place on earth.

Join Caroline as she takes you on a wild ride through her adventures in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. But be careful, it’s a jungle out there!

Available now at Amazon.com in paperback and Kindle formats. Published by Theme Park Press.
