The spitting beauty of Adventureland is back!
After undergoing refurbishment for a few months, the beloved Spitting Camel of Adventureland is back and just in time for this weekend’s sweltering heat, too.
The Spitting Camel statue has been a staple of The Magic Carpets of Aladdin since 2001.
We personally avoid her spitting water at us, but many guests love it!
We noticed that she was gone during our trips to Disney World earlier this year.
The Flying Carpets of Aladdin in Adventureland is one of our favorite rides at the Magic Kingdom.
The wait lines for it are never very long.
The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is such a fun ride! We think that it’s a cooler version of the Dumbo ride because you pilot flying “magic carpets” instead of elephants.
Insider Tip #1: The wait times are always much, much shorter at the Flying Carpets than they are over at the Dumbo ride. In fact, there was no wait at all when we got there!
Insider Tip #2: Sit in the front seat to control how high your carpet flies and sit in the back seat to make it tilt forwards and back.
Insider Tip #3: Yes, the camel out front spits water….and a great distance! It’s controlled by a behind-the-scenes cast member, and yes, they can see you! 🙂
Flying high over Agrabah on a magic carpet around a giant genie lamp:
When I was a Disney Cast Member, I actually worked in Agrabah!
We’ve written two books about our time working and playing at Disney World.
Both are available on Amazon.com: Two Girls and a Mouse Tale and Adventures in the Animal Kingdom.
