Christ Pratt, Anna Kendrick, and Jeff Goldblum are reportedly in negotiation for roles in the upcoming live action remake of the 1997 Disney hit “Hercules”!
Pratt would play the goofy but loveable Hercules, with Kendrick set to sass up the screen as Megara.
Meanwhile, Goldblum would play Hades, the Lord of the Underworld (a role made famous by James Woods in the animated film).
Danny DeVito is expected to return as the wisecracking sidekick Phil. You can catch him this Christmas in the Jumanji 2: The Next Level movie.
Shooting reportedly will begin summer 2021, with a tentative summer 2022 release date.
The 1997 animated film was a musical, no word yet if the live action film will also be a musical. (I’m not sure Chris Pratt can sing, but Anna Kendrick has a great voice that was highlighted in the three Pitch Perfect movies.)
Well, bless my soul…the Herc is on a roll!
Disney movie trivia:
Now, there’s a rumor going around that Disney is also considering Alexander Skarsgård, who played Tarzan in 2016, for the role if Chris Pratt has a scheduling conflict.
We think that at 43 years old that he’s too old for the role. (He would be 45 during filming.) Thoughts???
Yes, we know Chris Pratt turned 40 last month on 06/21/2019, but he looks younger and has a lighter personality.
We’ve written two books about our time working and playing at Disney World.
Both are available on Amazon.com: Two Girls and a Mouse Tale and Adventures in the Animal Kingdom.

Have a magical day!
Hercules is considered a “rare” character meaning that he doesn’t make regular appearances at Disney World or Disneyland.
He doesn’t even make annual appearances at special hard ticketed events like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in the fall.
We met Hades from Hercules and other Disney villains during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party last year when all the villains come out at night!
