Disney World’s Cinderella Castle is Being Repainted

Castle Painting

Check out the largest paint-by-numbers project in the world.

Disney Trivia:  How many bricks were used to build the Cinderella Castle at Disney World?

Answer:  None, 0.  All those “bricks” are individually painted on by hand!

Only 3 brick colors: 4, 5, and 6

Those aren’t bricks! And they change in size with larger painted bricks on the bottom and smaller painted bricks on the top, creating an optical illusion of greater height.  It’s called ‘forced perspective’.

Reopening Day

Each one of these “bricks” is being repainted by hand this month in the new color palette.

Too golden???

We are on the fence about this new look. We like the blue turrets and golden accents, but the pink is a little too pink.  Guests are saying it looks very salmon pink colored in the afternoon light.

It’s not as pink as it once was…….!!!!

We’ve written two books about our time working – and playing – as Disney Cast Members at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Both are available on Amazon.com in paperback and Kindle:  Two Girls and a Mouse Tale and Adventures in the Animal Kingdom.
