Epcot’s Living with the Land

Living with the Land

July 15, 2020: Epcot reopens after being closed since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of our favorite places at Epcot is ‘The Land’ pavilion. The Land covers six acres, making it Epcot’s largest pavilion.  It includes a cool futuristic glass greenhouse.

A Hidden Mickey!

The 2.5 million square foot facility is dedicated to human interaction with the land itself. It explores how humans can both use the land for their benefit and how they can also destroy it. Future Technology in better preserving the land is explored in the pavilion, along with a focus on the celebration of the land itself.

5 minute wait to board the boat ride, no Fast Passes necessary. (January 2020: Pre-social distancing).

Living with the Land Boat Ride – Sponsored by Chiquita Banana – A 10 minute boat ride in air conditioned bliss taking you from an indoor story portion exploring rain forests and deserts and plains to a huge glass greenhouse revealing the plants, fruits and vegetables grown in The Land for Epcot restaurants, including hydroponic gardens and fish house.

We love this ride!!  This is the best ride when it’s hot out and you need a break from walking around.  There’s never a long wait to board, and you can rest in air conditioned boats…very zen and calming.

We always grab a bite to eat afterwards and try to schedule our Fast Passes for Soarin’ Around the World for after lunch.

Sunshine Seasons

Sunshine Seasons food court. We always eat here!

For some good eats, the Sunshine Seasons food court is one of the best food courts at Walt Disney World!  Delicious food (quick service, inexpensive) with chicken, pasta, Asian fried rice and chicken, sandwiches, fresh fruit, and bakery items available.

In addition, there’s a large amount of seating in the pavilion.  A great place to take a break and cool off or get out of the rain in the summer.

    Caroline,

Did you stop by Starbucks at DS Marketplace yesterday? I thought it might be you, but wasn’t positive, so I didn’t say anything at the register.
