Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom has been canceled for 2020.
A Twinkle of Holiday Magic: Instead of the featured evening holiday parade, there will be shorter and more frequent “Character Cavalcades” throughout the day and evening at Magic Kingdom. The cavalcade parade times are unannounced to keep guests from lining up on the sidewalks.
The Character Cavalcades will take on a special holiday twist starting November 6th, with Christmas friends on festive floats wearing their holiday finest. The cavalcades will feature Gingerbread Men, Holiday Elves, and Reindeer. Also, the beloved Toy Soldiers will join the Main Street Philharmonic as they march through Magic Kingdom Park bringing musical holiday cheer for all to hear.
“We know these experiences are a cherished part of holiday traditions that will be missed by guests and cast members alike, but we’re glad to be able to bring holiday magic in other creative ways,” Laurel Slater, manager of communications for Disney World.
The Cinderella Castle Dream Lights have also been canceled. Instead, evenings at the Magic Kingdom will feature projection effects on the Cinderella Castle “with a kaleidoscope of designs, including a whimsical Christmas sweater and a regal overlay of red, green and gold ornamentation,” Disney states. “The iconic castle will provide the perfect colorful background for guests seeking a magical holiday portrait.”
Guests are reminded to wear their face masks at all times, including during photo ops. Photos taken of guests while not wearing face masks on rides will not be available. This includes photos where guests not in your party aren’t wearing their face masks.
