National Pancake Day occurs twice a year, and the second National Pancake Day falls on September 26th this year. (The first one is tied to Mardi Gras in the spring.)
It’s a day so nice that they made it twice!!!
Get those hotcakes bubbling on the griddle, it’s time to make some pancakes! Pancakes are an old, old staple…dating back over 2,000 years to Ancient Greece.
Since then, many varieties have been created across the globe. In Britain, France, and other parts of Europe, their pancakes (or crepes) are thin and often served with a sweet fruit or cream filling.
In Indonesia, their pancakes known as “serabi”, which are made with rice flour and coconut milk. In Uganda, their pancakes are made with bananas. In China, their pancakes are savory, made with rice flour and scallions.
Whichever style of pancake you prefer, all are delicious and worth celebrating on National Pancake Day!
Of course, our favorite pancakes are Mickey Pancakes!!!
You can get Mickey pancakes at Disney World, but you have to know where to look! Most breakfast places serve Mickey Waffles instead.
We’ve written two books about our time working – and playing – as Disney Cast Members at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
