Giant Holiday Ornaments at Epcot’s France Pavilion

****

The giant holiday ornaments returned to Epcot last week as part of the Taste of Festival of the Holidays that started on Friday, November 27th.

We think they’re beautiful!

The France pavilion at Epcot is especially pretty at Christmastime with all it’s bright red holiday décor on all the buildings.

Welcome! So pretty decorated for the holidays!
All the holiday garland is up.

But, what’s especially noticeable this year is that Epcot usually decorates with at least 50,000 live poinsettia plants.  Maybe as many as 100,000 plants some years.  It’s just gorgeous.  BUT, not this year!  The holiday poinsettias are missing!

As any florist will tell you, they would have had to be started by March for planting in late November.

And, what was going on at Epcot in March????

Nothing.  Nada.  A complete shutdown.

The poinsettias never got started for this holiday season.

Let’s compare this year’s holiday flowers to last years:

2020:  This year’s flowerbed at the entrance.  Mostly greenery.
2019 Festival of the Holidays: Look at all those 100s of live red poinsettias!
Just gorgeous!
So stunning!

Last year, the giant ornaments were surrounded by hundreds of live poinsettias plants.

November 26, 2020:  No poinsettias – or any flowers – surrounding Epcot’s Christmas trees this year.  Just greenery.
Even the 2020 Festival of the Holidays pins have poinsettias on them!
