Cape May Café at Disney’s Beach Club Resort is finally reopening on May 18, 2021! It’s been closed for over a year now.
The New England-style restaurant is a perfect location to refuel before a day of adventure at Disney World.
Guests returning to Cape May Café will find old favorites and new changes, along with its signature service and quality. The restaurant will serve breakfast and dinner, but Minnie’s Beach Bash Character Breakfast and the Seafood-and-More Dinner Buffet will not return at reopening. 😦
That’s not to say there aren’t plenty of treats in store! The all-you-care-to enjoy family-style breakfast menu will feature popular staples like pastries (including the layered crispy, cream-filled “Lobster Tail”), omelets, and Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse waffles. Highlights from dinner will include house-made Parker House rolls and corn bread, a seafood boil with a variety of fresh seafood, The Turf Platter with steak and chicken, and lobster mac and cheese.
Reservation bookings for Cape May Café open on May 7th.
We highly recommend this restaurant! Delicious!
A look back at Cape May happenings before it closed in March 2020 due to the COVID pandemic:
*****Look who’s now appearing at the Cape May breakfast buffet…it’s Daisy Duck! We love her outfit!
Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast (note: not returning when the Cafe reopens May 2021, but should return later on this summer)
At Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast at Cape May Café is welcoming a new friend! Daisy Duck has now joined Minnie and her friends for this fun character dining experience.
Indulge in a delicious New England-style beachside buffet which includes a full breakfast complete with Mickey waffles, scrambled eggs, seasoned potatoes, pastries, and much much more.
The Cape May Cafe is not as well-known as the other Disney character breakfast buffets at Disney World, so it’s much easier to get last minute reservations there.
We were able to use one of our 50% off CM dining coupons, which made the breakfast very reasonable.
Our breakfast reservation was for 9am, so we could have breakfast and then head over to Epcot for the day.
We liked the atmosphere at the Cape May Cafe a lot. The pastel colors and décor are very “seashore at the turn-of-the-20th-century”.
It makes it seem fun and carefree, perfect for a relaxed breakfast buffet.
The buffet was extensive and delicious! They had all kinds of breads and Danish, muffins, croissants, cinnamon rolls, cereals both hot and cold, scrambled eggs, frittata of the day, cheeses, seasoned potatoes, bacon/sausage/fish, fresh fruit, salads, and, of course, Caroline’s favorites: Mickey Waffles!
One cool thing that we did for this character breakfast was to bring our big Vinylmation for the characters to sign! 🙂 That was Elly’s great idea!
There are three Disney characters that visit with guests at their tables: Minnie, Donald, and Goofy, all in their bathing suits/beach attire!
We missed seeing them in these costumes during our Disney Dream cruise, so it was fun to see them wearing them at Cape May! (Elly wishes Mickey had been there in his swim suit costume – she’s still collecting photos with him in all his costumes!)
