Jan 2020:  We ran into Cinderella just last month at Disneyland.  It was cold and she was wearing her heavy winter gown.

The mosaic murals took over one million hand cut and shaped pieces of glass, bits of real gold and silver, and numerous “jewels” to complete.

More than 500 glass colors were used in the designs and the entire process took two years to complete.

Meeting Lady Tremaine and Her ‘Beautiful’ Daughters

These two crack me up! They are sooo vain!

The Beautiful Tremaine Daughters Have New Outfits!

This summer the ‘beautiful’ Tremaine daughters – Cinderella’s mean stepsisters – got new, upgraded outfits at Disney World.

Their new outfits are bigger and brighter, and have a lot more velvet and satin layers.

We love their new costumes!  ❤

Meeting the Tremaine Family at Cinderella Castle

Me and Ricky meeting the Tremaine family.

We were wondering around the Cinderella Castle when a cast member told us that the  the whole Tremaine family would be coming out soon.

This made me nervous because the Tremaines are always so unpredictable!

At the Magic Kingdom

Wearing my Cinderella t-shirt at the Magic Kingdom.

Sure enough, Lady Tremaine and her ‘beautiful’ daughters came walking out. I was so nervous because I had on my Cinderella t-shirt and I knew they’d be mean to me about that!  And they were!

We took a group photo with them, and then I asked if I could have one alone.

Lady Tremaine looks at her daughters and says, “Very well!” And then they all walked away from me!!  😦

This is me saying, “Wait, no! I want one WITH you all!”

“Wait! Come back!!”

Lady Tremaine just shrugged and said, “Well, to each their own. I wasn’t going to question you!”

They are soooo unpredictable!

Ever wonder what it’s like to work for Disney???

We worked at WDW for a year in the Disney College Program and have written a book about what it’s like to be a cast member working for Disney.

We’ve included advice on how to successfully get into the DCP program, including some of the actual phone interview questions, how to have a successful internship, and how not self-term before your program ends. Our book is filled with lots of behind-the-scene stories of the magic of Disney.

2017 Gingerbread Display at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

cr1

Cinderella and her Prince Charming

This year’s gingerbread display at Disney’s Contemporary Resort features Cinderella and Prince Charming in front of their gingerbread castle.

The adorable gingerbread version of Cinderella Castle is done in “it’s a small world” style inspired once again by the artwork of Mary Blair. The new display replaces the ‘Frozen’ gang seen in the past few years.

cr3

It’s in the Contemporary’s main atrium this year.

Also new this year is the location of the display. You’ll find it by the large A-frame window in the main atrium as opposed to its previous spot just outside of Chef Mickey’s. Much better lighting!

cr4

It’s all about the gingerbread!

cr6

We LOVE these shingles!

cr5

Catch me, catch me, if you can….I’m the gingerbread man!

cr7

Up-close of Cinderella, just like as in “it’s a small world”.

cr2

About 2,000 lbs. of sugary goodness went into making this display!

Disney Princesses Keeping Warm in the Festival of Fantasy Parade

princesses

The Disney princesses staying warm in their winter outfits.  (Jiminy Cricket looks concerned!)

When the temperature in Orlando falls below 60 degrees, the Disney princesses change into their heavier winter gowns.  This generally only happens for a few days in the December – February time period, so it’s hard to catch them wearing their winter gowns and capes. [We think that in 365 days, they maybe get to wear their winter costumes only about 20-25 times!]

But, when they are wearing them, they are extra beautiful!  All that velvet and heavy satin and the long gloves….so pretty!

They were wearing them during the Festival of Fantasy parade for several days last week before Christmas (Dec 2016).

Meeting Lady Tremaine and the Stepsisters

At the Magic Kingdom

At the Magic Kingdom, wearing one of my Cinderella t-shirts.

My coworker Ricky and I went to the Magic Kingdom so we could ride all of the “mountain” rides (Space, Splash, and Thunder Mountain).

We were wondering around the Cinderella Castle looking for pins to trade, when I spied the Fairy Godmother doing a meet and greet under the castle!  We got right in line.  As we are getting closer and closer, they told us that the Fairy Godmother was going away, but the Tremaine family would be coming out soon.  This made me nervous because the Tremaines are always so unpredictable!

Soon enough, Lady Tremaine and the stepsisters came out. I was so nervous because I had Cinderella on my t-shirt and I knew they’d be mean to us about that!

When we walked up to greet them, the first thing Lady Tremaine said was, “OK, we want some gossip. How do you two know each other?….”  I don’t know why, but my friend, Ricky, and I got so shady and were super weird about trying to answer her until one of us said “….Work?” Haha!
