Adventures in the Animal Kingdom

Lions and Tigers and Strollers, Oh My!

This is not Caroline’s first time in the Disney College Program. Along with her sister, she was previously accepted into the program a few years earlier.  Back in Colorado, Caroline was wishing for a little more pixie dust to brighten up her life.  On a whim, she decides to apply to the exclusive Disney Alumni Summer Program.

Now that she’s back, things get wild.

Wild, as in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where Caroline is assigned to work in Stroller Rental.  While not the most glamorous position in the park, it’s often ground zero for humanity at its best and at its worst.

While Caroline makes many “Magical Moments” for deserving guests whose pixie dust has gone temporarily sideways, she also receives magical moments of her own through the friendships she makes, going to Disney cast member exclusive events, and all the spectacular dining opportunities at Disney World.

Caroline tells all – from the ins and outs of Disney’s secret training class called Traditions; to learning how to be a happy cast member during on-the-job training; to what it’s like to interact with fellow cast members and the guests who are ready to explore the most magical place on earth.

Join Caroline as she takes you on a wild ride through her adventures in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. But be careful, it’s a jungle out there!

Available now at Amazon.com in paperback and Kindle formats. Published by Theme Park Press.

Looking good Daisy!

Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast

Over at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast at Cape May Café is welcoming a new friend!  Daisy Duck has now joined Minnie and her friends for this fun character dining experience.

Indulge in a delicious New England-style beachside buffet which includes a full breakfast complete with Mickey waffles, scrambled eggs, seasoned potatoes, pastries, and much much more.

*****

Cape May Cafe is not as well-known as the other Disney character breakfast buffets at WDW, so it’s much easier to get last minute reservations there.

We were able to use one of our 50% off CM dining coupons, which made the breakfast very reasonable.

So sweet!

Our breakfast reservation was for 9am, so we could have breakfast and then head over to Epcot for the day.

We liked the atmosphere at the Cape May Cafe a lot. The pastel colors and décor are very “seashore at the turn-of-the-20th-century”.

It makes it seem fun and carefree, perfect for a relaxed breakfast buffet.

The buffet was extensive and delicious! They had all kinds of breads and Danish, muffins, croissants, cinnamon rolls, cereals both hot and cold, scrambled eggs, frittata of the day, cheeses, seasoned potatoes, bacon/sausage/fish, fresh fruit, salads, and, of course, Caroline’s favorites: Mickey Waffles!

DSCN0532One cool thing that we did for this character breakfast was to bring our big Vinylmation for the characters to sign! 🙂  That was Elly’s great idea!

There are three Disney characters that visit with guests at their tables: Minnie, Donald, and Goofy, all in their bathing suits/beach attire!

We missed seeing them in these costumes during our Disney Dream cruise in February, so it was fun to see them wearing them at Cape May! (Elly wishes Mickey had been there in his swim suit costume – she’s still collecting photos with him in all his costumes!)

The characters were wearing the same beach costumes that they wear at Castaway Cay in the Bahamas!

It was a wonderful breakfast with good friends, then we were off to see what’s new at Norway in Epcot’s World Showcase. 🙂
