Breakfast at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot

10:45am, ready for our breakfast buffet. Lovely day at Epcot.

We went to a character breakfast at the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall.

This is the character breakfast at the Norway pavilion in Epcot. (For us, it was more like brunch…11am seating time, latest breakfast time possible.)

Inside Akershus!  Once upon a time….

We walked in and immediately met Belle.

Belle, looking beautiful as always

Once you are seated, there is an iced buffet where you serve yourself.  There are lots of different bread options (most filled with raisins), and then about 15 different options of cold fish (gross!) done in Norwegian sauces.

Once you and your family sit back down, the server brings a huge plate of warm scrambled eggs, cheesy potato baked casserole, and a mountain of bacon and sausage!  You share it all family style.  The cheesy potatoes were my favorite!  So good!

While you are eating, all the princesses come around and greet you, sign your autograph book, and take a photo with them.  So cool! They are all so pretty!!

Beautiful gown!

The best part was that every 15 minutes, they invited all the little princesses and princes in the room to parade around the restaurant with all the Disney princesses! So cute! 🙂

Our bill was $80 plus the gratuity, so it ended up being around $90.  Well worth it because we got to meet all the princesses and eat delicious breakfast food!

Two Girls and a Mouse Tale

by Elly Collins & Caroline Collins

We worked at WDW for a year in the Disney College Program (Fall 2013/Spring 2014) and have written a book about what it’s like to be a cast member working for Disney.

We included advice on how to successfully get into the DCP program, including some of the actual phone interview questions, how to have a successful internship, and how not self-term before your program ends. Our book is filled with lots of behind-the-scene stories of the magic of Disney.

  1. Hi. We’re bringing my daughter down to start the DCP at the end of August. We won’t be going to the parks this time, but I thought it would be fun to do a character breakfast. Since we can’t eat in the parks, what do you think is the best character breakfast in the resorts?

    Thanks!

  2. We think the best character breakfasts at the resorts are:

    #1 Cape May: https://collinsrace1.wordpress.com/2015/06/13/breakfast-at-cape-may-cafe-at-disney-world/

#2: Ohana at the Polynesian Resort: https://collinsrace1.wordpress.com/2015/06/27/breakfast-at-ohana-at-the-polynesian-resort/

Don’t forget, your daughter can use her CM discount as soon as she completes Traditions on day 2 or 3 after arrival and gets her Company Blue ID.

20%-40% Dining Discount for WDW Cast Members

    Have a magical day! 🙂
