Try one of these delicious treats at Typhoon Lagoon!!!

Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon (our favorite!) are open daily.

The water park’s hours are currently from 10am – 8pm daily.

CM Tip #1:  The water parks do close for the daily afternoon thunderstorms, so always check before you go!  If the thunderstorms happen too close to closing, the water parks just close for the day and don’t reopen.

CM Tip #2:  The water on the rides is not heated!  Some guests think the water is a little too “refreshing”!  [Note:  Both water parks were closed due to cold weather for several days in January, February, and March of this year when the daily temperature was below 65 degrees.  The cast members working there were temporarily re-deployed to other Park locations.  Expect some closure days in late December due to cold weather at Typhoon Lagoon.]

Adventures in the Animal Kingdom

Lions and Tigers and Strollers, Oh My!

This is not Caroline’s first time in the Disney College Program. Along with her sister, she was previously accepted into the program a few years earlier.  Back in Colorado, Caroline was wishing for a little more pixie dust to brighten up her life.  On a whim, she decides to apply to the exclusive Disney Alumni Summer Program.

Now that she’s back, things get wild.

Wild, as in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where Caroline is assigned to work in Stroller Rental.  While not the most glamorous position in the park, it’s often ground zero for humanity at its best and at its worst.

While Caroline makes many “Magical Moments” for deserving guests whose pixie dust has gone temporarily sideways, she also receives magical moments of her own through the friendships she makes, going to Disney cast member exclusive events, and all the spectacular dining opportunities at Disney World.

Caroline tells all – from the ins and outs of Disney’s secret training class called Traditions; to learning how to be a happy cast member during on-the-job training; to what it’s like to interact with fellow cast members and the guests who are ready to explore the most magical place on earth.

Join Caroline as she takes you on a wild ride through her adventures in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. But be careful, it’s a jungle out there!

Available now at Amazon.com in paperback and Kindle formats. Published by Theme Park Press.

  1. Hello 🙂 I have a question..

Can cast members buy half price tickets at the gate any time or is this only unil June 9th?

    Thanks so much!

    1. Cast members can buy 1/2 price tickets at the water park gates anytime.

So, it’s free admission now, then 1/2 price for CMs and family/friends through the summer after June 9th.

Last summer it was so hot that Disney waived the cast member entrance fee and it was free for CMs from July on, 1/2 price for family/friends.
      🙂

    1. Bonjour!

The free entrance benefit into the WDW Disney water parks is just for Florida-based cast members.
HOWEVER, we recommend that you go up to Guest Services and ask them about complimentary admission or possibly 1/2 price tickets. Bring your cast member ID with you.
You never know, a little Disney Magic might come your way if you ask nice enough!
      🙂
      (We’ve seen it happen!)
September – after the first weekend (Labor Day here) – is a slow time with lower crowd levels with all the children back in school and a greatly decreased threat of afternoon thunderstorms.
But, it will still be very hot and humid…high 80s/low 90s every day. (About 32 degrees C.)
      Have a wonderful vacation!

    1. Still blocked out because it’s the 4th of July holiday week.

However, for the past 2-3 years, the summers have been so hot in Florida that
they’ve brought back the free admission for CMs in mid-late July, over a month earlier than normal.

It’s been so popular that we’re hearing they are considering moving up the free admission again this summer.
      Fingers crossed!

      Have a magical day!

  3. What about the rest of the year? Fall winter and spring? Do cm have free admission to water parks or just 1/2 price?

    Like

    1. It’s free admission for Florida-based CMs most of the year except for the summer months…for about 10 weeks
      in June, July, and August.
Last year, only about 6 weeks were blocked June through mid-July 2016.

  4. Hi girls!!
My question has to do with cast members buying disney world park tickets for family/friends.

When they purchase the tickets I understand we receive a voucher. How does that work? I realize the vouchers need to be turned into tickets but the purchase would be made in October for a January visit and we would need to link the tickets for FP. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Kelly

  5. How many guest tickets can a cast member buy at the door? it will be me and 6 guest? Is that possible? or there are restrictions?

    Like

    1. It depends on your work status.
How many discounted tickets can you buy at Company D?
If you can only buy 3 tickets at a time at Company D, then you’ll only
be able to get 3 half-priced tickets at Blizzard Beach/Typhoon Lagoon.
      So, yes, there are restrictions.
