The new Cast Connection building is located at the intersection of Western Way and Bear Island Road, near the massive Walt Disney World Tree Farm where a variety of plants, trees and shrubs are grown for use in the parks and resorts on property.  That is so cool to drive by!  Think of all the stuff Disney grows in there year-round!

GREAT DEALS AWAIT AT CAST CONNECTION & PROPERTY CONTROL

Disney’s Eyes & Ears Magazine

After more than 20 years in the Magic Kingdom Park area, Cast Connection and Property Control has found a new home off of Western Way behind Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.

Cast Connection is a great, onsite destination where cast members can purchase surplus or discontinued merchandise that was previously available within Walt Disney World Resort locations, as well as groceries. Anything from furniture to tableware that has previously been used across property is available for purchase within Property Control. Offerings within the location change frequently, so cast members should make visiting the stores a reoccurring item on their to-do list.

Cast Connection offers select groceries. From milk and eggs to fruit and cheese, Cast Connection can be more than just your source for unique Disney merchandise.

Based on availability, Cast Connection often carries some of the best-selling products within our stores like Disney Tsum Tsum plushes, holiday offerings, Disney Animator’s dolls and more! (All merchandise is subject to change and supplies are limited.)

Property Control offers company assets that were often previously used in Guest areas. This is a great way for cast members to get some great deals while reducing the number of items sent to a landfill.

Also, cast members can bring up to six family members or friends when visiting the location. (Some areas of the store, such as Mickey’s Treasures and Property Control, are limited to cast members only, and those with a Spouse/Domestic Partner Main Entrance Pass only.) The relocation brings lots of great benefits for shoppers, including additional retail space, a dedicated parking lot, extended hours and the two stores now being under one roof.

Plan your visit to the new store: Sunday – Wednesday, 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. or Thursday – Saturday, 9 a.m.-7:30 p.m.

Two Disney Sisters

Two Girls and a Mouse Tale

by Elly Collins & Caroline Collins

Ever wonder what it’s like to work for Disney???

We worked at WDW for a year in the Disney College Program and have written a book about what it’s like to be a cast member working for Disney.

We’ve included advice on how to successfully get into the DCP program, including some of the actual phone interview questions, how to have a successful internship, and how not self-term before your program ends. Our book is filled with lots of behind-the-scene stories of the magic of Disney.

Available now at Amazon.com in paperback and Kindle formats. Published by Theme Park Press.

Do you know if spouses of the cast member are able to go into cast connection? Or does the Cast member have to be present? Thanks

    • If you have your Disney family member ID card, you can get into Cast Connection without your CM being present, but not into Property Control.

What if the spouse and the CM are both present, then can the Spouse of the CM enter Property Control (Mickeys Treasures)?

Correct me here if I’m wrong. A CM with spouse/domestic partner both have MEP’s with both their names but only one of those belongs to the spouse.

If both, are present with both MEP’s couldn’t then the spouse enter Property Control with the CM? I read that this was the only way a spouse could enter, was with the CM present and that this was the only exception to the rule that only a CM can enter Property Control.

      • No, only cast members with company ID can go into Mickey’s Treasures.

Up to six guests, including any spouses, can walk around Cast Connection.
Cast members get a 10% additional discount at the cash registers.

Found this while looking for a disney cast member. My 16 year old daughter with Down syndrome met Thomas the pirate at the entrance to the pirates of the Caribbean attraction on 4/22/15 between 7pm and 9:30 pm if I’m not off on the time. Thomas was wonderful with my daughter and gave her a no strings attached paper good for a ice cream bar with teenage princess Amber showing at the top. Amber was so impacted by Thomas that on the way out she asked to keep the slip and not get the ice cream so she could keep it to remember Thomas. If you or someone else reading this knows Thomas please thank him for teenage princess Amber and her mom for the priceless memory of that night. Amber still talks of pirate Thomas and put her no strings attached paper in her scrapbook to always remember him.

  3. I’ve already heard from several cast members who work with Thomas and they say he’s so funny and nice. If you contact Disney Guest Services, he’ll get a Four Keys card to his record, which are good things for CMs to get!

  9. Hello, an employee of the Disney character store told me that there was a new store called cast connection near the international drive but seek direction leads me directly to the properties of the animal kingdom. It will be possible to visit the store and do my shopping?

YES…but you must be with a cast member to go into Cast Connection. It is very near Disney’s Animal Kingdom at 2340 Recycle Way. See the map above for directions.

Maybe you’re thinking of the Disney’s Character Warehouse at the Outlet Stores?

    HI Caroline & Elly:
I’m a Disney Store CM in California and I’ll be visiting WDW in one month 🙂 I do not have a car, is there public transportation (bus) that I can take to Property Control & Cast Connection? I’d like to shop at the Cast Connection and take my sisters. I have the address and directions from our hotel Old Key west. Any suggestions?

    • Unfortunately, there’s no bus that runs to Cast Connection, except the Housing one and you can’t ride that one (the K bus). 😦

But, you can get a cheap ride from your hotel there using Uber!
CPs post free lift codes all the time! Caroline used it last week and rates it 5 star!

        Please, What is the tieline?

        Like

      • I think that field is optional…if not, use 2222.

The Disney Tie Line for DCP Housing:

Remember to press “8” first before calling out!

All Walt Disney World company phones, also known as House Phones, are part of the Walt Disney World Telephone System. Telephones that are usually company phones include all backstage phones, beige onstage phones, and all phones at Vista Way, Chatham Square, The Commons, and Patterson.

To access an outside number from a company phone, you must first dial “8”, then dial the area code and phone number. While Kissimmee and Lake Buena Vista numbers are local, be aware that Orlando Area phone numbers are not local calls!

From a WDW company phone, you can dial a “Tie Line” to reach another WDW number. To use a Tie Line, press “8”, then enter the three digit tie line prefix, followed by the last four digits of the phone number (also referred to as an extension). For example, to call the Extra Hours Hotline from your Chatham Square Apartment, instead of pressing “8” to dial out then dialing the ten digit phone number, you can dial “8”, then Tie Line “222”, then Extension “1000”. To dial an extension within the same Tie Line, simply dial the four-digit extension.

For instance, since all Vista and Chatham Apartments are on the same Tie Line, you can call any apartment from another by dialing only the four-digit extension. You will also find that many extensions at your work area are on the same tie line within that park or resort. A complete list of tie lines can be found in the DCP Program Guide.

Hi I just passed by this comment and I just wanted to let you know I figured out the answer to this when my family came down. Guests are allowed to make purchases, they just have to see the cast members ID so they know the guest came with a cast member! They just use their own money and they can buy as much as they would like as long as it’s not from the cast member only section.

    • They used to hold it in the back parking lot at the old location near the Magic Kingdom. Now, it’s all online.

A lot of furniture and decor stuff from the resorts, special event pieces/props, electronics (TVs), etc.
For example, since Disney is pulling all the alarm clock radios from every room at every resort, I expect they’ll be alarm clocks auctioned off by the lot soon!

We’re not sure if you get the additional 10% off at checkout, but we asked several cast members and they thought that you did!

So, give it a try and let us know how it goes!

Remember, you can go into the large room (the one with all the clothes and food), but not the smaller room on the right Mickey’s Treasures.
